So I was just looking at my feed on YouTube, and it looks like Google has released a new product. Google Consumer Insights, where you can apparently pay to have consumers fill out surveys.

I've linked to the videos below. Soon I'll also put up a mirror of the videos in case they get taken down.

UPDATE: Phew! Just got this one in time. Looks like they removed the videos. Mirror below.

I just reuploaded the videos to YouTube. Hopefully they don't get taken down. If so, below is a zip of the full files.

Looks like a better marketed Google Docs Forms. I like it, looks simple and fun, which surveys normally never are.

I liked how slick it looks. How long though before you have to fill out a survey before you can see a web page?

Google has too much competition to do something like that with their search engine. There's already such things with other advertising networks on other websites. Normally those stupid "Like us on facebook and then we'll let you see the stupid joke!" pages, but also ones that require you to fill out surveys or 'quizzes' first. Popular sites don't use them for a good reason, and I don't expect a change.

This could be extremely annoying. I hope hope most people set it up for voluntary responses. I'm kinda going to be annoyed if I have to take a survey any time I visit a site. If that happens.. Good chance ill stop visiting the site.

Yeah, any site that requires action on my behalf before viewing content is on my hate-list.
