free load testing *cough*DoS*cough* service
« on: September 25, 2010, 09:06:41 PM »
So... after getting DDoS'd for the third time, I decided to do a bit of research. Load Impact is a nifty tool that lets you hit your (or anyone else's, really) site with up to 50 simultaneous clients for free, and you could pay for more.

I don't think the perp used this thing, but I do know that someone hates me ;D

I'm not sure how loic works (or how proper load testing should be done), but I basically just made a simple java app stuck in an infinite loop connecting to my server (with no sleeping).

Basically you just load the page a lot of times, quickly via a program and not a web browser or a command line program.

That's basically how LIOC works except that you can specify it not to wait for a response.
