I'm having a ball with this, so I figured I'd share: I'm turning CyanogenMod installers into torrents. Why is that a good thing? Well... by using BitTorrent, you could
- save the CyanogenMod guys some money so they could crank out better ROM's
- download ROM's faster
The torrents are web-seeded by a number of HTTP download mirrors. Even if there are no regular peers, you should be able to download from multiple mirrors in parallel and achieve higher download speeds than you could with plain HTTP.
For some strange reason, ultimatebuster was not able to get the torrents working with his client. I have tested them with KTorrent on KDE and
tTorrent on Android.
