Check out http://ex8.me for a new url shortener.

Yes the theme is horrid at the moment, but right now I can not do much do to summer school work.

The best way is to go to extensions like what goo.gl does and then you never have to worry about the theme

TIP: Try to target Niches, not saturated markets.

No api, as of yet. Thanks for the idea, I plan to work on that. The only thing we have right now is the javascript bookmark

Well, you should work on statistics and what not, seeing as most of the services that people really use have in depth (or as in depth as possible) statistics on where the traffic is coming from, how many clicks, where they are, etc.

Also, you should really work on the theme. I see you say "If this theme is messed up, please use firefox as this is ideally made for firefox." and, well, it isn't really that hard to make the theme cross browser compatible, or at least, move the message to the bottom of the page, much smaller, as to be honest, I couldn't really care what it was made for, as long as it works. Lol.

Also, you have some issues with the message after creating a short url:

Should be more like:

I really really dislike the theme. Especially with that stupidly annoying floating footer.

It needs more structure imo, just looks like everything was quickly thrown together in a rush with no consideration of the layout.

It was thrown together quickly, thus why i am taking suggestions but not all suggestions are being taken. I personally like it.

I think that if you do a survey, nearly 100% of the survey will hate the floating footer. It obstructs content, and takes your eye of what should be viewed.

That floating header pisses me off too! It the logo covers up the content as you scroll.

I think you need to remove all the floating elements, and rethink the colours slightly.

How could that possibly be abused... Its one of the most important features of a URL shortener.

Trust me, in one hour i had over 70,000 urls processed from one ip address which was making 5 per second.

know how to ban ips then? or set a limiter to the ip... using cookies SQL anything you wish... SQL is best because the user cant have the script clear the SQL entry
