Hi all,

Obviously we haven't really been seized by the U.S. Government.  However, today we join forces with some of the largest websites on the internet such as Wikipedia, Reddit, and Google to show you what might happen if the government passes SOPA or PIPA.

I'm sure some of you might be wondering why I didn't block out all services like Wikipedia.  The reality is, I intended to.  I was going to do something fancy like http://www.naturalnews.com.  But, in the end I decided not to for a couple of reasons.  First, not all of you guys are U.S. based and I didn't want to block out the entire site for you guys.  Second, I really just ran out of time to come up with a design I liked.

So, in doing my (and your) civic duty, take a few minutes to read up on SOPA so you understand the details of it and the repercussions.

Best Wishes,
RVTraveller

For those of you looking for more information, or who would like something easy to read and entertaining to share with others, I highly recommend this Special Edition of The Redditor, Reddit's unofficial magazine. (There is a bit of "foul language" though, so don't include it in any lesson plans. ;) )

Kind of a corny way to say it right? Was going to black out my site, but they block the ports here at school to get to cpanel.

Oh time to learn something new. There is always a way around those blocks. Here's the easy one.
You can use any domain pointing nameservers to (most cpanel servers). By using this proxy you can access it over port 80 instead of 2082.
My domain works. http://cpanel.zzstack.com/
Just login there like normal.

Grapeshield.com may not be working for it because it is using ns1.chemicalservers.com and ns2.chemicalservers.com
If you update those to ns1.zzstack.com and ns2.zzstack.com I believe it should start working for your domain as well.  And if not... Then I would love to investigate it.

Thanks for the info (I'm wary on trying to bypass their stuff otherwise I'd be through, because they have a zero tolerance policy for that stuff. No internet access for the rest of time as student).

I'm currently transferring to NameCheap (been having a bit of trouble, so it's taking a little longer than planned.) but once I'm over I'll move those nameservers over.

I also may have a little chat with IT soon. They block FTP, ustream, most games.
